DFI Missions

At least three times per year, the Dorsainvil Foundation hosts medical missions at our clinic in Arcahaie, Haiti. Each mission is staffed by medical professionals and volunteers who provide logistical and administrative support.  A mission is normally limited to 10 - 12 volunteers and lasts up to five days.  During our mission, we treat between 200-300 patients and distribute donated items (toys, gift bags, toiletries, etc.) to more than 600 people. Our volunteers provide assistance in the following areas: triage; translation services, toiletry distribution, and pharmacy tech services.

When is the next medical mission trip?

The next DFI mission trip is scheduled for December 10- 15, 2019. This mission trip is also tentatively scheduled to have an additional beautifucation project for our clinic in Archaie, Haiti. Our goal is to repaint the clinic, add new signage throughout the clinic and make other minor necessary repairs.  As a result of the expanded purpose of our next mission trip, there are two volunteer options in this December:

  • December 10-11, 2019 Beautifucation Project

  • December 12-15, 2019  Medical Mission

How do I participate?

If you have not discussed your participation with our board, please contact Founding Director Dolores Dorsainvil.  If you have discussed your participation and need to register for the next mission, complete this form.

What is the required donation for a mission?

The donation required for a mission is $1,000.00 (US) and covers all expenses (excluding airfare) for the trip.  However, each participant is encouraged to bring additional funds for shopping and their own personal travel needs.

All mission funds are due no later than 10 days prior to the mission departure date. If you are participating in the Winter 2019 Medical Mission, the following payment schedule is suggested:

  • 1st Payment   -  $350.00 due October 15, 2019

  • 2nd Payment  - $350.00 due November 5, 2019

  • 3rd Payment   - $300.00 due November 26, 2019

Payment of the 1st installment secures your reservation for the selected mission.

PLEASE NOTE:  As of July 1, 2014, Haiti has instituted a $10 USD Tourist Fee, which is collected at the airport during immigration

and customs.  Fee must be paid in EXACT CASH and is not included in the DFI fees listed above.

What is included in my mission donation?

Your tax-deductible donation includes:

  • Four nights, five day hotel accommodations (double occupancy).

  • All meals.

  • Ground transportation.  Including transportation from Port-au-Prince airport (PAP), the hotel, and the DFI clinic in Archaie.

  • Group translator and DFI host for the duration of the mission.

  • Recreation day(s) at the beach and local sight-seeing in Port-au-Prince.

What about my airfare?

Each participant is responsible for their own transportation to and from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. However, we suggest early booking for the best rates and travel options. Once your airfare has been booked, please complete this form so we can arrange for your ground transportation.

What if I confirm my reservation but cannot make the mission trip?

The first $350.00 of all mission reservations are non-refundable.  If the mission trip is less than 30 days away, then the deposit is due within 7 days of submission of your completed registration form to confirm your participation. If a deposit is not received within the required time, the participant’s reservation on a trip may be canceled. All deposits will be applied to the mission donation fee. If a participant opts to cancel their trip after paying their deposit, the $350.00 will be used as a donation to further DFI's work in Haiti and the individual will receive a standard DFI tax letter at the end of the appropriate tax year.

What if I cannot make the trip but I still want to support the mission. What can I do?

There are two ways you can support a mission if you are not able to make a trip.

Make a financial donation.

You can choose to either sponsor a volunteer or provide support to cover the expenses of the mission.

Donate supplies

We are always in need of supplies. Including but not limited to - medical supplies, toys, school supplies, healthcare kits and non-perishable food.

If you would like to support a mission in this way please contact our Founding Director Dolores Dorsainvil.
